hi. when i release the clutch lever on my suzuki gs 125. it does not engage immediatly! what does this indicate

That something is sticking. Check the cable and the clutch push rod mechanism.

Can you describe it better it could just be poor adjustment.

cmsnl will show you the clutch system and if it has a central clutch rod and ball........I can hear the moans now!!

post a pic of your bike to help.....probably a stiff cable....

It does use a push rod, but if it fails you normally just can't disengage the clutch.

My money is also on super stiff cable.

if it has the push rod mech then it will have the helix mech as well......see cmsnl for exploded view, rod and ball and "scroll mech" and seal.......

may be the helix/scroll mech is buggered, but check cable first.
