So yeah, this is the devastating damage. Dropped it against a brick wall.

Get some 2300 grit sandpaper on it, those scratches will buff out. Only downside is moulded plastic had a slightly 'rough' texture so the mirror will be slightly lighter coloured and shinier when you finish. Might be worth polishing the other to match if you care enough.

Or use aerosol spray texture to put the finish back on it.

Those little scratches are likely to be the first of many such. If I was in your position, I wouldn't do anything with them until I was about to sell the bike.

Melt a black wax crayon and apply the hot wax to the scratches, polish off the excess, job done!
