Hi,

Going to fit some crash protectors to 1999 R6 5eb. Is R&G the way to go? Seen some cheaper on ebay but not sure about quality.

It's quite expensive for full bifter kit, with front rear muchrooms but worth it I guess or is it really? My cheap track bike is growing arms and legs with costs at the moment. Oh what a surprise ehh Smile

Nylon is a good material and same that they use in mushrooms and fairings. I have made bar ends with it.

For a frame slider, mushroom shape is shit, it needs a bigger surface and offset mounts away from the impact area. Fairings are very good, but expensive.

Mushrooms mounted direct to frame with a horizontal bolt will usually snap off for anything other than low speed/stationary drops. R&G bolts are made of compressed poo, supposed to snap rather than dent frame.

Get some cheap ebay fairings for track.

Thanks for your response. Track fairing is the way to go, just need to get through this weekend in one piece with OEM first. Will hold off on spending >£100 on full R&G stuff and put it towards track fairings. Smile

Might get cheapo single mushroom slider for this weekends, maybe protect engine casing a bit when I toss her down the road.
