Honda Just keeps on going...

Hello all!

I'm new to this forum. But was hoping for a little help!
I ride a Honda sfx 50 and over Christmas the back brake siezed on me, fixing that problem wasn't much of a feat, but ever since then its as is the throttle has locked itself on!
I've followed the throttle cable to the engine (under the seat, and it's not actually stuck, it releases back to normal and such, but the back wheel acts as if its never heard of stopping in its life! I've cleaned the carb, checked the jets, doesn't seem to be anything wrong there, checked the air filter in case I'd lost the sponge but all is fine, any ideas friends? I've been thinking head gasket potentially? Or oil seal maybe?

The throttle is stuck on and you are suspecting a head gasket?

Are you fucking mental?

It will be either the cable, the twistgrip or the throttle slider/butterfly sticking.

Since you've been messing about with the carb, I'd check that your slide is seating properly, then check idle speed screw.

Whoahhh I never said the throttle was locked on, I said it's as if it is, the engines Just going and going, checked the idle, had a second opinion as to it being the Carb but it's not, idle jet is in place. There's a fair bit of oil spluttering from the exhaust too. Will check slider and checlass back in.

How fast is the wheel turning? Sometimes the rear wheel will turn a little when the bike is on it's centre stand and engine on but can easily be stopped.

The slider that does into the top of the carb has to go a certain way round. If you have had it out, check that.

Is it a automatic choke if so the choke maybe sticking/stuck
