Seen it too...Still think turbo'd bikes are useless tho...
I know someone with a stunning SP1 with Twin Yoshi's on it...Imagine that! Much better than standard cans.. ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

The thing is, I'm sure these people know the risks, and the only time it will ever affect them is when they crash. If they crash, they pay for their stupidity. Who cares what they're wearing if it's their choice. They will learn their lesson when they have to try and grow back their skin.
Of course, if they were using NHS money to pick the gravel out of them then perhaps they should be properly clothed. We are all entitled to the same level of treatment, no matter how much tax we pay. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Crikey mchaggis, don't take much to set you off
Its a pity about the sp1 having such a diabollical tank range, the mpg is below 3o I am led to believe |

The turbo bike's do seem quite a bit less useful than a std machine in many respects. That R1 is quick when its going, but then as said, with the front wheel permanently up it's not so great handling, and braking again.
The main problem is the delivery of power, it seems to kill the bottom end power completely as his turbo is only waking up at 6-7k which i think is way too late, and he is probably far slower than a stock R1 up to this point, and when trying to accelerate from a low speed in a fairly high gear. When it spools up it flys into the red, and if you dont change up quick your nowhere again. Imagine trying to safely overtake a line of cars one or two at at time on a busy B'road? You just couldnt meter out a reasonable amount of drive without it going barmy, or leaving up without any power/boost on the wrong side of the road. Also on a wet bend or slippery road, it would spin up the back wheel or make the front go light too early and have you off easily i would think. I bet on a track day, it would be a real challenge to get a faster lap time than on a std R1! Its great to watch and listen to, but i would take the SP1 and probably still go quicker the vast majority of the time on a long ride out. The turbo really should be kept for top speed shootout competitions and for serious drag racing, with extended swing arm etc! |
