Hi guys anyone have a idea about my honda varadero 125 v8 Im having this wired problem, Once i get her up to 10000rpm full throttle it does this wired skip and then goes back to normal then does it again untill i let off the throttle and bring her back down to speed, Any ideas i think it could be my spark plugs as ive done 6000miles on them or could be a little more, Its like its trying to stop me going faster... Could i be due for new spark plugs as ive done some miles on them. Just did a fresh oil change witch i change every 1500miles. I use 10w40 Fully synthetic oil in her them best of the best. very well looked after to so i don't understand Question Thumbs Down

I had this issue a handful on my 07, was only when I run Castor GTX high mileage. I used bog standard 10w40 mineral from Tesco or Morrisons and the issue never returned.

It's a Honda 125. A well made one too. I ran mine for over a year happily on it.

Mine did over 77,000 miles...so it won't damage it.

Could be worn or incorrectly gapped spark plugs, valve clearances, or the electronic rev limiter on it's way out.

It could be something as simple as dirty spark plugs and/or very dirty air filter which would certainly restrain the engine's higher revs so considering you've had the same plugs in for 6000 miles, it would be worth checking.

Rev limiter kicks in at 12000 and does indeed kill the revs until you back off but I couriered a 125 Varadero from new to 79000 with not a hint of rev limiter trouble. Once kicked down from 5th gear at about 60mph (Was actually in 4th Shocked ) and snapped a rocker but had no problems after a quick replacement.

Thanks for the tips Guys, it was the spark plugs in the end.. Anyway so today out of the blue while i was at asda, I switch her on and noticed that while ideling (Engine was Warm) it was self revving it self from 1450rpm to 2000rpm then keeps repeating it self, Could it be an air Sensor whats on its way out. if it is where do i get one from.

From what you describe, I would guess that you have an air leak between the throttle bodies and the cylinder heads, or one of the engine breather hoses is loose or split.

Almost any problem with a sensor, will give a code on the Fi light.

Sounds crazy but started her up this morning and did it once so i took it apart to have a look and could not find anything wrong at all as everything looks brand new haha, So i ended up putting it back together and whatever i have moved or done seems to have worked magically. Thumbs Up Thank god
