GS 125 Suzuki piston trouble :)

Hi this is my first post.
I just acquired a gs125 1983 with a stomach ache.
So I opened her up and look what I found...
I had to add the photo as attachment because I don't know how to show you otherwise.
So what could cause this and what's my next move?

Foreign object in the combustion chamber. I bet the head and valves are trashed too.

Best bet is find an engine. The parts to fix will come to many times more than the value of the bike.

Thanks for the reply. I will get a new engine soon, first im going to rebuild the entire bike from the frame resprayed to a new style fairing and bobbed seat Smile

Older GS125 and DR125 motors had a small oil way to the cam which caused a lot of them to die if oil level dropped or service intervals were not followed so check for wear in the cam and head bearing areas...I'd also be checking the Conrods not bent or ovality at the bearing points after that much impact !! I passed my test on a GS many moons ago and we used the GN versions later when I worked as an instructor, so know these little motors quite well.
