I wouldn't hold your breath too long, helicopters have been around for some time now and they still seem to need pretty big / lots of rotors when carrying any weight is involved.

I reckon they will be able to make a drone big enough to attach a harness to and fly yourself about too.

I believe this is already possible, some of the large one I know can carry 70KG which means if I lost 3kg they could cay me

You would feel much safer in a harness than balancing on top of the thing like the guy in this video.

Batteries wouldn't be an issue, when power is low, they self land anyway, so you would just glide to a gentle stop.

Unless you wanted it for anything but a quick-novelty.
As with jet packs, we're going to be severely limited in flight time.
You can get quad copters that use a collective system and can be run from an ICE, but then you've basically just got your 'personal helicopter', which isn't anything new either Smile.
