*steps into workshop*

Hello.

I've just taken on a Suzuki gs125.

She needs a new engine and a lot of TLC.

Her name is Rosie.

Attached is two pics of Rosie and her poorly piston.

This is my first project and I need to know what tools will I be needing to strip Rosie, give her a good seeing to then re-dress her in new clothing?!!?

I plan on turning Rosie into a flat track cafe racer and keeping her road legal, any input on this rebuild will be most aprechiated.

Thanks for looking

Raga

I'd suggest a computer with an internet connection and a credit card...

In all seriousness, your crankcases are full of spatters of molten alloy now. I presume the cylinder head is similarly toasty? No way of knowing what the bearings are like or if any other "bits" have gone through.

This isn't just a new piston job, it's a down-to-the-crankcases strip, clean and rebuild. Then you have to fix the problem that caused this in the first place (running horrifically lean?) That piston looks like one out of a horribly malfunctioning 2-stroke.

You should give serious consideration to throwing a second hand engine into it. Or possibly even a new chinese engine.

Its going to have a new engine. There's one now on eBay for 100. Its a Chinese one. I'm holding out for a month or two, find a better deal on an original somewhere.
The whole top end is covered with iron fillings. Its damaged too there's a piston shape mark on the gasket and the head. It looks like it . Been sandblasted with shards of iron.

Probably bought it stripped. Or had a open-headed spanner that fit the four bolts holding the cylinder on.

Why am I a tit? Cuz I started spouting bubbles when some of you were asking me for personal details and my partners Facebook account details? Why should I be serious when your the ones trying to mess with me?
There's plenty of real enthusiasts sites out there who take an interest in advising me and not asking for my partners Facebook in live chat.
Anyway, here's the bike as it sits, new engine and swingarm on the way. I've bobbed it what do you think
