Hi guys,

I really must stop looking at bikes for sale......but, spotted this 750 SRAD and it's just up the road from me.

There is something about the back end of these bikes that I really like, not quite sexual or anything, but anyway.

Any thoughts on this bike? It seems reasonable(ish) price wisee and would go nice with ever growing collection. Surely if kept in decent nick these things won't depreciate further? So not really a lot to lose.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gsxr-750-/321765174602?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

Need someone to give me a good reason to not go right round there now!

I have very bad 'Take my money, I don't care' syndrome.

I never really liked them that much when new, but now all sportsbikes are tiny and feel not very substantial or particularly well built, I think the fat and solid and roomy looks of the SRAD are quite appealing.

I'd like a 98 Blade more in turquoise/orange, but if SRAD 750 is an EFI model and in Blue/white instead of the worst of the shell suit schemes also afflicted on them, then yeah it works for me!

That's never going to be a collectors piece, it's rough and has been tampered with so I doubt it's done depreciating.

For not a lot more you could have a GSXR1100K which is basically an orgasm on wheels. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/classic-suzuki-gsxr1100-k-1989-full-service-12-months-mot-original-excelent-c-/361298336220?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item541f0f19dc - that probably is done depreciating.

I too love the massive arse on this bike and the 600. Can't stand the vestigial wasp stingers that purport to be 'seats' on modern bikes. Apparently you can fit a whole 6-pack in the rear hump? They look good painted metallic grey too, must be the curves or something.

My interest in the SRADs doesn't extend beyond aesthetics, but that's my two cents Laughing

Now storing a six pack under there could swing things back the other way right there. Wonder if ass end cavity could be refrigerated?

No, I have managed to stop myself going anywhere near this one even though she is wiggling her bum at me in that pic, a bit of a tease, bad girl. Naughty bike. Razz

There are similar condition 750's on eBay for a few hundred less that actually have MOT's.

I like your thinking. Thumbs Up

Aesthetically, I prefer the SRAD tbh FWIW.

Looks-wise the SRAD's have definetely grown on me, I used to hate them. Maybe I just don't like how insectoid / anime / feminine / gay (delete as appropriate..) new sports bikes have been looking the last few years.

That one in particular though.. At first glance doesn't look too well looked after tbh. Also no MOT = deal breaker for me Hand

This one is rough with a questionable past https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSXR750-SRAD-/251962478818?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3aaa2250e2

I bet you could batter the price down a fair chunk though, maybe even down to 3 figures. It says '97 but it can't be as FI I think only came in from '98 onward.

Still though banish any thought of it being a non depreciating asset (for that you want the 1100k I linked), but as a hack to thrash in to the ground it looks ok.

Lets not beat about the bush, there is not a new 1000cc sportsbike on the market today that has or will ever ace the ZX7R or SRAD for looks.

you have lot's of nasty under the engine exhaust box's like something off an Audi, underseat exhausts that suck, stumpy fairings CBR1000RR, OCD tormenting not symmetrical faces S1000RR, and evil Alien projector headlights like the R1 etc.
