So when I went to straya I signed over my bike to my dad who has insured it in his name with me as named rider.

As it turns out I'm coming home sooner than expected (writing this is brisbane airport actually) and gonna move to bristol. Borrowing the bike for a few weeks until get sorted with a 50 of some kind is kosher isn't it? As it will be going back down to cornwall for him to use as the main rider so no fronting....

I'd say it's alright, you're borrowing it for a "holiday" in a sense. As long as he rides it more than you on the whole throughout the year?

It's fine. But do expect the question to be raised should anything happen. Technically speaking the bike is being kept on a semi permanent basis away from the address it's insured at, so expect that challenge too
