Yawn. Sleeping

Football ≠ News. Which is why they put it in the back of newspapers after the important stuff like horoscopes, extra long tonail scissor adverts, discount hearing aids and singles ads.

No Beeb coverage of the US and China tensions but Fifa gets constant live updates.

Sums it up really. Laughing

World cup 2022 in Qatar, one of the least suitable places to do any outdoor sports on this planet. Did you really think they just won the draw? Thinking

Whatever your views on football, the ramifications of this go further than sport, ie governments paying bribes, to the tune of 100's of millions of $'s!
With any luck they'll target the IOC next, another nest of bribe ridden, freeloading, crooks who deserve their comeuppance!

they are in bed with FIFA (the IOC) they line each others pockets by involving football in the Olympics

what has become clear today is all major sports brands have the same corporate sponsors
M'd's Visa, adidas the list goes on and the $$$$ rack up into the billions
so everyone wants their share in kickbacks and "hospitality" at said events Thumbs Up
who pays the price, Joe public paying his sky / Virgin / BT Sports subscriptions Thumbs Up

Anyone that think FIFA isn't as bent as a nine bob note is naive as hell.

Nothing will stick to Seb B though. These are just the fall guys. He's got enough money to buy off whomever wants to put him away anyway.

I'd say 99% of people think FIFA are bent.

Sadly like you say, Blatter seems too insulated for any charges to stick. He really reminds me of a mob boss, too many layers of underlings doing his bidding and so officially he looks clean as a daisy.

He may be an odious, old, corrupt c*nt but you have to give it to him, he's clever and has played the whole world for fools for a long time. Only after he's dead will the truth probably be unveiled, Savile style.

FIFA is registered as a charity Shocked Shocked
how the f*** do they get away with that one ??

Quote:
It is a registered charity. Fifa pays little tax in its home country of Switzerland. It also requires tax exemption in countries wishing to host a World Cup competition. "Any host country requires a comprehensive tax exemption to be given to Fifa and further parties involved in the hosting and staging of an event," a Fifa spokesman told the BBC last year. The 2010 tournament - the most expensive yet - cost South Africa 33bn rand (£3bn; $4.86bn). But a "tax-free bubble" was established around the event at Fifa's request, relieving Fifa, its subsidiaries, and foreign football associations of any obligation to pay income tax, customs duties or VAT.

You might be surprised to know that some BCF members have done that resulting in pages on BCF being removed from search results. Thumbs Down

Although I'm hardly surprised that he got "voted" back in, it still pi$$ed me off. Evil or Very Mad

It'll be interesting (maybe) to see how some of the more outspoken nations react to this. Unless they're all paid to keep schtum of course.

The whole situation, surrounding the obnoxious cnut, is incredible.
AFAIC, what seals his guilt for me is the lack of law suits flying about.
Some of the language used to describe the, despicable twwat, in the broadsheets, would normally see lawyers getting their knives out and crying "libel"! Hopefully he's between a rock and a really hard place, can't sue for libel, because he'd be investigated in open court.

Sepp Blatter is either a lying, cheating, fraudster or a total and utter incompetent, there are no other possible outcomes.

A non-profit organization. They can't generate profit = they spend all the money in-comes on charity stuff, to keep 0 balance.
