Not sure how it works in every case, but normally you need a medical. I guess you could pay to get this done yourself (no idea on the cost), but if you went through a solicitor they would cover this.
When you say indisputable case does that mean the other side have admitted liability? If not I'd be wary, as the part 36 laws are a minefield, with some serious cost consequences if you end up going to court. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

I'd ask them. I'd use plain English. Say that you want to keep their costs down, and what do they need to see?
Do bear in mind that you're unlikely to see a penny until you're fully healed or as healed as you're going to get. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Ah OK liability is the main thing.
Honestly I don't know, I'd have thought an NHS doctor wouldn't, but I'm not sure what evidence you need to prove injuries.
Just be careful with regards to part 36 offers. If you turn one down and end up being awarded less in court, you'd be liable for the other sides costs, which can be thousands.
Also they expire after 21 days (I think?) where the other side can claim costs for the late acceptance of an offer. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

I've actually done this, your number one priority is making sure the insurance company knows that they'll be dealing with you directly. Somehow someway someone will tell you that there is a company acting on your behalf to settle your claim, you will need to talk to this company also to confirm that your flying solo.
Once you've done this, follow the lead of the insurance company your dealing with, this will normally start off with them wanting consent papers signed and sent back for them to gain access to your medical records, as Borg has mentioned, it'll be a lengthy process/progress, the longer it's left the more 'detail' in your medical report to substantiate your large compensation. Apply too soon, and there won't be enough 'detail' in your medical records to warrant such compensation.....think about this when contacting them. Any payout over 3 years from the date of the incident will require a courtroom for setlement, so make sure its under this time if you want to settle out of court. Once you've received, signed and sent back the papers, expect at least a month for their 'medical professional' to peruse your medical documents and notify the insurance company of the extent of damage before they issue an offer.
Do not accept offer.
This is where you earn your money.....pun intended.
Hope this helps. ____________________ If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough. |

I was gonna say didn't your insurers refer (or try to) refer you to someone. They might have an arrangement not to take some of your settlement. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)
