Well after some kind scousers relieved me of my VFR750 recently I've been considering what to pick up next.

I'm waiting to come into some cash, so have been driving myself mad looking at bikes on the bay.

I'd really appreciate your advice on what to get.

My requirements are:

£2500 firm budget

I feel like I really came on as a rider when pushing on my VFR, and want to get a sportsbike to come on a bit further. I'm looking for a bike that handles like a peach, that's my biggest want.

I'm undecided on CC. I keep kind of considering a thousand just because, but I don't want to pick up a ratty bike for the sake of buying a 1000, when I could get a tidy 600 for the same price. Also is a 1000 reeeeeeaaaally necessary?

I might end up doing quite a few miles up and down the motorway, so I want a fairing, and it needs to be reliable. I'm 6"4', but am young and pretty bendy, so willing to sacrifice comfort. It is a consideration though.

At the moment I'm leaning towards either a 2000ish R6, GSXR 600 k1/2, or an early noughties Daytona 600

Also considering a GSXR 750/1000, R1, 'Blade (954 if poss but don't know if my budget would allow it). Toyed with the idea of a ninja, but could probably only pick up a J on my budget(?). Also maybe a CBR600, probably an F sport

Please put me out my misery!

2001 R1, can probably find one of that era, unsure on 929/954 prices currently...

Not a clue. Shouldn't matter when they are in your mirrors Wink

The 1000s you'll be looking at in your budget range will be kicking out about 150 crank bhp, if you're lucky. Which is considered by many as being the sweet spot for power. When you start getting to proper 180-200 bhp stuff, it gets borderline unusable but I think for what you're after, it'll be a good step up without being pointless.

I'd probably go early R1 myself, they're about 130bhp at the wheel which is a good usable amount of power.
