Didn't see a new member introduction forum... always looking for new motorcycle discussion and great roads to ride. You can never have too many friends on two wheels. Just saying hello, cheers!
Little history: I've owned an '81 Honda CM400E, '02 Yamaha YZF600, '03 Honda F4I (track bike), and '12 Triumph Daytona 675R. Currently looking to pick up a dual sport. ____________________ '12 D675R / Jardine Half System

Pip pip, ahoy, and so on. This is mostly a UK forum, but we're a primitive, passive, burned out culture, and ripe for invasion. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Hello.
Here you will most likely receive all kinds of snide comments from folks who feel resentment at the wealth of your country, and people like yourself who, being American, and having a motorcycle and all the kit, and a good grasp of the (bastardised version of the) English language, will be assumed also to be relatively wealthy; not to mention having a positive, can-do attitude (is that even allowed?!).
You will be blamed on a personal level for all the world's ills, including, but not exclusively, dragging our humble remnant of empire into countless, fruitless wars in recent decades, and receive much in the way of " yank, innit bruv" kinds of responses.
However, if you can withstand all this, and much more besides, and have some understanding of the British sense of humour (which you will find fully fledged here - and nowt wrong with that, is there?), and if you can make a positive contribution to this forum (that's me out then ), I am sure that in the fullness of time, you will be welcomed as a cherished member of this little community (which, I have to say, is a very rewarding one to be a member of).
I see you already have one red blob - how was that earned? Must have missed that thread, in which case, I am prepared to take back all the bollocks I've written above and dismiss you as another ignorant, condescending, arrogant, trouble-stirring Johnny Foreigner
Edit: No, I see you have gone back to neutral; that's the ticket! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Thanks for the write up. Culture simply fascinates me. It's interesting, rather unfortunate, how many people don't understand that differences created by environmental influences strongly affect one's worldview and opinions. This short-sightedness or lack of experience (ignorance) is stereotypically held by many Americans - likely other cultures as well.
Either way the differences you encounter when meeting new people, local or not, is what makes our interactions worthwhile. It wouldn't be any fun if everyone was the same. Clearly some of the main reasons I enjoy travel and people.
Regarding my "red blob", it was from a video post that didn't go over all too well at first.
Yep. There was a little bit of this happening:

Haha... not a Harley rider. Only thing that would come with would be the Daytona or an Adventure bike, although more likely I'd be renting.
South Park did an episode on Harley riders that's pretty funny.
