Or any other options? To be honest the main thing i look for on paper is a good camera, on paper the sony seems to have the better camera, also it has an sd slot.

Im open to any other options, also it seems all the new smartphones dont have removable backs, so does this mean when the batteries done the phone is too?

Does it have to be an S6? The S5 has a decent camera, SD card slot and replaceable battery.

Have Z3. No complaints.

Had Samsungs before and so did wife; found them to be pretty temperamental.

I have the mini Z3 and its great

I used to have the HTC M8 and was going to wait for the M9 but pleased I didst now

I use the Z3 for day to day and a Nexus 7 for movies etc (or Id have the larger Z3 for both)

The Z3 has a great camera and its packed full of power without battery compromise. The Z3 and Z3 mini are the same hardware underneath (unlike some others phones that compromise features for size)

Z3 has to be the best phone on the market at the moment.. IMO

I wouldn't buy a Z3 now because in June the Z3+ is being released. Wink

I just opted for the S5+ for these very reasons. S5 is also waterproof too.

Also, LG G4 has just been released. Rivals the S6 for function, but also has removable battery and sd card slot.

EDIT:
Weirdly, battery life on S6, iPhone6, M9 and G4 appears to be worse than the previous itterations. I'm getting 2 days on 1 charge, that's with a bit of Youtube, Twitter, WhatsApp, Emails, Browsing etc

Reviews of latest phones have that kind of usage killing the battery in a day.

As I mentioned I use the Z3 as a phone and a tablet for movies.. This means the Z3+ has no advantage over the Z3 for me.. In fact means I
am better of with a Z3 as the accessories are already available..

I still wouldn't buy a Z3 now as it'll be cheaper once the Z3+ is available. Wink

Meh, regardless of if buying sim free or on contract, I'd wait a couple of weeks to get a better deal than will be possible now.

I've got a Z2 after having Samsungs and can't say I like it overmuch (improved with the latest OS update). I don't know how much better a Z3 is though.

I think I might go for an S5 for the same reasons as Pigeon.

How about the Nexus 5 or 6?

Both are decent bits of kit, have a pure Android OS and good specs.

Also cheaper to buy SIM free then the galaxy if you're into that sort of thing.

LG G4 has the best camera with its 1.8 aperture, colour sensor and laser focus. Removable battery is a bonus too.
Frigging ugly though Laughing

To hijack another mans thread (I hate doing this or seeing it done but hey!)

I'm after a Sim free smart phone, as I've been offered a great sim only deal from work that would save me at least £15 p/mnth.

I swerved the annoying staff in my local EE shop and had a gander at the phones they had on display. Before doing this I was thinking about the Sony Z3 compact, as I've had 3x Sony handsets now and I'm a creature of habbit.

So much for being compact though, it's huge! The Samsung S5 and S6 are too big as well. I only want basic phone functions and net useage will be limited to checking emails, travel info and sports results etc. A good cam and possibly short video taking function would be big plus points. I don't do social media and don't download or watch films on my phone, I can't see why anyone would want to watch a 3" screen for any length of time if they have a laptop or tablet anyway?

I did see the Samsung A3, which was a bit smaller than the other's, but is it any good for what I want? I'm not fussed over make's except I don't do I Phones and hate them! It needs to be simple to use and not OTT for a basic user with basic phone useage needs.

Last phone was a Sony Xperia X10, and so I'm stepping in from the dark ages! Laughing

Sim only deal, keep S4 and stick a decent ROM in it instead of the bloated OEM.

Save £25 a month or so.

I got the galaxy s6 edge and i like it so far. I use the wirless charging at my desk and in the house works pretty well, a wee bit slower charging but it just sits there no need to plug cable in (you can get parts to make other phones do this). The s6 i have suffers from the memory leak issue and im waiting for update from vodafone.

At the end of the day its just a phone, i was due upgrade and tbh i was not that fussed im not one that thinks phone is a fashion accessory.
