 |
|
So, the latest bike is a Z1000. I've noticed that cornering over 70, 80 or so, it gets very unstable. I've tried adjusting all of the front suspension (compression and rebound), as well as the rear (rebound only) and I've noticed where it feels best, but regardless of the changes, the speed-related instability remains.
Both tyres are fine in terms of still being round and I've tried pressures from 38F/42R to 34F/36R with no real difference.
I don't think the back wheel can be put on wrongly either, as it uses a strange circular mounting system-

To put into words what it feels like - it's as if the back tyre starts hopping when going around a bend quickly, like it's bouncing almost. Any mid corner bumps seem to throw the bike sideways.
So what else can I check? I don't want to have to go out and buy a shock and cartridge kit, as I'd be as well trading it for something else in that case. ____________________ Biking history so far-

A bit of lost traction isn't too bad. Try bucking and wallowing like a dinghy on the ocean, with the whole bike weaving for a few seconds, after you hit a bump while cornering, and you'll know what poor suspension feels like. I'll take too hard over too soft every day of the week.
Consider getting the suspension adjusted by a suspension outfit. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4
