 |
|
Hello guys, i though i share my plans with those who care, not here to be hated at because i have L plates. Everyone started somewhere just remember that.
So, basically i got into riding as i always loved bicycles and 2 wheelers ingeneral, so i bough myself an Aprilia SR50 2008 Ditech cheap and spent a bit of money on, i had a crash 3 months after because a "Private Taxi" i put that in bracket because they have a reputation, cut me up while i was filtering and hit me in the side, My insurance took the bike to get an estimate, gave me a restricted TGB Hawk ( I feared sitting on it as its top speed is 30mph and i travel on roads that are 40 sometimes as there is no other way) so i decided to get a 125cc instead. Bough myself a 2006 Vespa LX125 which was lovely until it got nicked while i was sitting on it a week later. Now 3 months after the accident i have been payed out and decided to import a Gilera 125 specially 2 stroke model because i know how they pull and love the smell.
So i found one which is in fair condition and is £400 + import fees, delivery and registration.
It will be delivered next week Saturday and hopefully i can register it without any fuss.
here is a video to show you guys what i bough..
By the way the accident was 100% Third Party's fault before you guys say i was riding crazy.

h for hungary, so not really an issue to register over here, but im surprised you've spent the time, effort and cash doing so.
i cant imagine 2 stroke 125s are in that short of supply in the uk that you'd be forced into importing one.

Insha'Allah.
You're under 19, right? |
Hello, yes i am 18 at the moment, well it has all the paperwork, such as the equivalent to logbook, Test until 2016 such as the MOT here in UK and couple other papers. I only moved to the UK 5 years ago, my dad has a company and always use these guys to deliver for him so I got quoted £150 max for the delivery but can be cheaper because they charge £150 for a full size bike ( cheap because my dad knows them for so long)
I have the insurance still from my first bike so they willing to insure it on the frame number, as you can see from the video the condition is good, brakes, tires, variator belt changed and a winter before rebuild by a car mechanic who has been working on bikes since he works
So it should pass MOT no probs.. I got a very nice guy in Killburn who will do it for me, from there its just the wait from DVLA after sending V55 form
all together the cost will come to about £700 which is good for its condition, will have years MOT and years Tax. ____________________ Doesn't Matter what your ride as long as it has two wheels and ain't Chinese. |

It'll take twice as long and cost twice as much to deal with registration and insurance as you expect, even if you double your expectations. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Seal-Mate = any thin plastic. A piece cut from a soft drink bottle works fine. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

A mechanically competent 125'er?
If you can ride 125's, why go for a 2 stroke scooter with less power than many 4 stroke bikes?!?
Why no NSR125?
I see you wrote helmet/shopping space. When I looked at scooters they were all pathetic, and a bike topbox gave me 3x more space than that in a scooter. As you probably wouldnt want a large topbox on a pathetic scooter, bike wins. |
