NSR125 Dellorto PHBH28 carb

I'm in the process of getting an NSR125 ready to sell. It's been stood for a bit so I've had the carb apart to clean all the passageways and jets.

There are two hoses that come off the side of the carb body (the ones I've put the white cable tie around), which don't currently connect to anything. They don't seem like overflows and blowing air through one of the smaller jets blew fuel out of one.

Anyone know what they should connect to?

Probably just vents for the float chamber, if you take the chamber off
you should be able to work out if that's the case.

I had the float chamber off and all the jets out. These pipes connect to the upper carb block.
After putting it back together with cleaned carb and fresh petrol, it seems to run OK with these left as breathers. They just looked like power jet hoses on my TZR's and TDR carbs, which need connecting.

Just seems odd to have breathers pointing upwards. Maybe i'm both thinking Honda engineering? It's certainly less friendly to work on than my Yams.

Im pretty sure they are breathers and I know they don't connect to anything.

hi,
these are definitely overflows/breathers & it IS odd that they are pointing upwards.
they shouldnt be.
therefore i'd be suspicious as to why they are pointing upwards.
try aiming them downwards & see if fuel pi$$es out,

Cheers Gaz, they're only pointing that way because I cable tied them up to photo them. They got poked through holes pointing down after that.

The only odd thing which got me thinking was that the "nipples" that they connect to the upper carb on are pointing up to start with. Also when I put the compressor through one of the jet passageways, fuel shot out of one of them.

My TZR250 carbs have similar hoses which connect from the top to the bottom of each carb body, with these disconnected they run like crap. I think they're referred to as part of the "powerjet" system.

Hi,
nothing that fancy on this carb, seen lots with the hoses pulled off.
I guess, as long as the wee nipples () arnt blocked everything should be ok.
I always look at the nipples & if the are grey/alloy they are usually breathers.
brass & they are usually fuel or oil hoses
