my organisation (charity providing social services) has RBS executives on the board of directors. Odd I know but I got thinking about how much damage has been done to organisations like charities and wonder, would there be a good case to take the likes of RBS to court for damages?

I take it your charity employer hasn't given you a pay rise then? If the sole purpose of a charity is to benefit the cause, how exactly did the credit crunch affect your charity?

As far as I know, the only bank that affected UK savers was Icebank.


Charities don't have some single purpose. They're like any other organisation with a range of liabilities and responsibilities. Most charities that deliver community based social services are publicly funded in the main by local authorities. As a result of the financial crises austerity measures have cut funding massively and a lot of services have had to shut down. Some organisations have had to withdraw completely from providing services.

So they're being treated just like every other public service?

Am still interested to know the registered name (or the number would be equally helpful) of your charity because it would add a lot context to what's being discussed.

Surely any damage from budget cuts is done to those who the charity supports as opposed to the charity itself?

Primarily the staff in this instance by the sound of things. This may explain the OPs interest. Definitely sounds
like someone trying to get more for themselves but disguising that sentiment as 'concern' for the wider organisation.

Ok not just charities anyone or any organisation that can trace damage back to the banks responsible for the financial crisis.

It's not derailed, people have asked various questions to try and understand the situation and you've not given any answers.

You can't expect anyone to be able to offer any type of helpful answer when you're so secretive with relevant details.

If seven years after the financial crisis someone dousent understand the relevence of the question then they're not really going to have anything helpful to say.

Anyway as far as I'm concerned the threads dead.

From what little you've said, rather obviously the answer is NO because of how vague the question is and how little detail is provided.
