MPG Figures...How to read it correctly

Could someone help explain what the number 31326.5 [MPG] reads/means,please

sorry for being a bit dim,but is it 6.5/ [26.5 I would think!] so what are all the numbers [313] at the beginning ??

How many miles did you do on how much petrol?

I know what the [MPG] means its the actual number displayed that I dont get


it's off a fuel efficiency app:

miles 79.088 1048.7 MPG [DOWN]
miles 78,479 1201.9 MPG [UP]


what's going on here?

it says enter the total miles on the odometer NOT the distance since last fill...

my average MPG is 31326.5 ??!!

I think i need to contact the support,so all I can think is I'm interpreting the figure wrongly!

Yes I'd have thought to use back to Zero,but it does say you must put the Odo reading and NOT the mileage between fill up's tho?

If not

You started at 78479 miles

You then added fuel at 79088 miles

(or at least the above is what you told the app)

That equals 609 miles covered

You put in 2.64L of petrol

2.64L equals 0.58 of a gallon

So 609 miles using .58 of a gallon equals 1048.68 MPG

Therefore you either pushed the bike most of that distance with the engine off or you are a potato at using a basic app/simple maths/being sentient.

Someone's including the 1/10th of a mile in the odometer reading, methinks...

Bike looks like an XR125, which should be getting around 100MPG (and is unlikely to have 79k on the clock)

Next time you top up your bike keep the receipt and run the bike until it needs to be refilled again, when it needs to be refilled again use the receipt to enter details as well as the figure on the trip-o-meter just before filling up the second time on that website, there you have your MPG.

So, you use details from receipt top up 1 and figure from the trip-o-meter just before top up 2 to enter details on website, then rinse and repeat..

Details from top up 2 receipt and figure from trip-o-meter just before top up 3 to enter on website..

etc, etc.
