Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling, and show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life by encouraging ‘everyday cycling for everyone’. Demonstrating the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, the week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK, whether this be for fun, as a means of getting around to work or school, the local shops or just to visit friends. The 2015 event will take place 13-21st June but events still take place through until September and beyond!

This year’s Bike Week has a special focus and will encourage people to use their bikes to cycle to work. Many people will use the events to ride and take part in ‘buddy’ rides with colleagues, scope out the easiest route to their place of work or take part in work place challenges.

I enjoyed it more than usual because it's warm and dry.

But a mile up the road, a biker was killed on his commute

Yeah, I thought it was funny. "looks like a powerful bike", what was it, "silver suzuki".

Yes, silver Suzukis are fast.

The accident was during rush hour, in an area of Guildford where you are lucky to get up to 5mph average speed. Will be surprised if it being a speedy silver bike is a contributing factor.

The gentlemen used to work at Bahnstormer BMW in Alton. Which as we know is frequented by the Baron. He tweeted that a friend of his was killed that same morning. Could be coincidence. Not that it matters, terrible for all involved.
I arrived to work at same time as another biker, we moaned about the amount of filtering we had to do that morning because the whole of Guildford was snarled up. We'd come from the south, so did not know what had happened. Obviously we felt like dicks once we'd found out.
