HI Folks,

since Yamaha has started their new plant in Pakistan and they have launched their first 4 stroke bike in Pakistan with Carburetor engine, need your view and reviews on this posting pics and details specs as well.

Price of bike in PKR is 129,400 PKR (almost 802.27 Pounds)

1. Will it be sold in the UK ?

2. Will it be the GBP you state if sold in UK.

If answer to number is 1 'no', then it is of very little interest to me.

no this is ESD version i dont think it will be launched in UK even uk has EFI based model ..

Another Thumbs Up for the enclosed chain.

Drum brake would make it a stopgap for the European market as next year even 125s will need either ABS or linked brakes. Honda, I'm looking at your CB125F as well.

What's up with them dumping Jianshe, I wonder. Quality or cost or politics?

Okay djnomi, since you can take a joke, a serious reply.
I don't think anyone in the UK can be expected to provide you with any useful information on a bike that's designed to be used in a country so very different from the UK.

I think it looks okay, apart from the full chain guard, these aren't popular in the UK, and hide from view a damaged or rusted chain. Perhaps they're a good idea in a very dusty country? No idea.

Jawa 350/640, boom, cheaper, easier to keep alive and also has enclosed chain.

Exactly the opposite, enclosed chains, if sealed up properly, last ages, at least on Jawa's do. Thumbs Up

How long is 'ages'? - I have been on a motorcycle with 25+ years old chain and the chain looked rather alright, no rust, no dead links etc., It was a Jawa from 60's, not sure what type now.

How do you know if the chain is lubed properly? - You check it? + And that is funny, my mate's MZ also has enclosed chain, and the gearbox leaks throuh the sprocket, so it's well lubricated. Also the lube does not get washed off and it doesn't really spray off either. The last thing is, you don't have to clean the chain very often, since it's enclosed, there's no dust getting stuck in the chain lube.

How do you check the slack? - The Jawa I rode, the MZ and so on have next to no torque, so the chain is not that stressed. So, I once changed the rear tyre on my mate's MZ, adjusted the chain, and I never touched it again. The bike was in use for 4 years since then, no need to re-adjust the slack. Basically, it's like the timing chain, once you hear rattle, it's time to check it / adjust it.

It has a rubber bung you take out to check the slack/adjust tension and lube the chain.

I wouldn't surprised if it lasted the life of the bike, or a decent replacement chain and sprockets would.

They look shit but are wondrous things. I found out when I had a CZ, like Rhyno did.

Ah, I see now why lexmoto are importing model after model in preparation for this rule.

All pre 2016 bikes with non abs / linked brakes get discontinued or just sold as a 2015 model?

Lot of replys and concerns i know these forums are UK based but i shared it as news i hope no mod or any one mind that.
i think yamaha has his 8 or 9 assembly plant recently inagurated in pakitan where they will not only assemble and produce for local demand but also will export to asia..

In pakistan humdity and dust is big factor thats why i think they have come up with chain cover also they are plastic made so nothing to worry about rust Smile

It's interesting (to me anyway) to see bikes made for non-EU markets and how they differ.

I've love an enclosed chain. It seems daft to have them flapping around in the wind, and I can only assume it's some fashion / racer statement.

I wonder if that downpipe is stainless or chromed.

Bigger engines have more torque and put more stress on the final drive = the chain needs adjustments more often. Also, there is some of the racing stuff in it, you wouldn't be able to just change the final driver gear ratio that easily if you had to put the chain in the cover. Thumbs Up

The enclosed chain was a necessity of our forefathers. A motorcycle was an cheaper substitute to a car in the post war Europe, especially in the land of Ivan, where an automobile was a luxury item, that even if you had the money, you were not able to buy one.
So, people used motorcycles for commuting/business/to get to places and they did not want to ruin their suits on their way to the work, for example. Also, back in the day, people used an actual oil to lube the chain, it must have sprayed off like today's enduro/MX chain lubes.
+ there were not many good paved roads, so the motorcycles were used in various conditions.

My mate actually used MX lube on his SV1000, well his chain was bone dry in 40-50 miles and his jacket was never greasier. Laughing

An enclosed chain is cheaper, lighter and easier to fabricate, than the shaft drive. Thumbs Up

From today's perspective, I guess that's why the first scooters came around. I mean you have more comfort on a scooter, you don't get to contact with any greasy parts. Just sit and get to work and back, and it's just a fraction of the price of a car, that's it.

guys who are having YBR 125 EU version which is EFI what is its top speed and acceleration as this one is struggling in acceleration as well in top speed Cool

P.S - Yamaha also launching YBR 125G in OCT 2015 so lets see what they are upto in next year they have plan to launch almost 17 models and will localize 80% of their production.
