Should I be ashamed about this or proud. I have a feeling it is the former. Smile

For people "pretending" they don't know what it is..... it's a con, a rip off, a way to part an idiot from his/her money (not in any way implying the OP is an idiot).

There are several reports online about these games, but basically the game persuades you to part with money because it's rigged.

You play a level and run out of moves, but you can see you only need a couple more moves to finish the level, so some people will pay for those extra moves..... and fail. So they'll pay for extra moves plus a power up.... and fail, so they'll pay for another even more extra moves and a different power up and pass, not realising they've just spent around £2 to pass 1 level.

If you don't pay, no matter how good you are, the game will only let you pass when it wants you to, there is no skill involved.

At one point King were raking in more than $1 million a day from candy crush

Not a penny paid.

I have deliberately not set up a payment method as it would be too tempting, but yeah, not a penny paid.

Nor do I have any notion of what this means.

Are you now an intellectually superior human being?
Are you now rich?
Do you now enjoy the admiration and adulation of millions of people?
Do you now have superpowers?

Or......

Do you spend a lot of time alone?
Are you 13 years old?
Do you find it hard to make friends?
Do your thumbs ache (and your neck)?

Wink

No offence OP, but I thought games like that exist only to give 50 year old gentlemen from Rotherham something in common with 14 year old scoobies...

I reckon that Candy Crush is great. It keeps Mrs Raffles quiet and content whilst I fuckabout on forums such as this one.

I'd imagine you could become quite proficient at something more productive and useful to you with the time you've spent on that pointless game, achieving absolutely nothing.

It's not completely useless or without merit. When your brain is full up and you can't sleep, it is a good way to empty it a bit. Almost meditative. The good news is I fall asleep before parting with any pennies...

The thing with at least knowing about these "silly time-wasting mindless stuff" is that you get to know who owns them; the smart money spends it on investment in the companies in a completely different way.

King (Candy Crush) and Zynga (Farmville, Texas Holdem, Poker, many others) have both floated on the stock exchange and are worth a fortune.

When I realised that I had started spending empty money buying Farmville "products", I realised around the same time that it would be more productive of me to buy shares in Zynga.

Cool Thumbs Up
