Hi all, after 4 CBT test I have finally decided to do my full test. Mainly due to the ignorance of other road user who assume that if you have L plates on that you don't know how to ride and shouldn't be on the road. Car drivers also believe this is a Green light to overtake just for the hell of it.
The last straw was today when a cyclist changed lanes in front of me with no hand signal's when I beeped him he politely told me to F''.;k off.
Then made a comment about my L plates????!!!! I fail to see the connection. I assume that he believes that If I have L plates on I either have no say or automatically in the wrong. I was wounder what test he had taken to be on the road? Oh yeah NONE Shocked .
Ok rant Over, I've just done an online test and failed the test by one question. failing on questions like heart compression and burn cooling times. Now let me cut to the chase I was wondering what is the best way to revise. I've looked at the official book which claims to be the latest 2015 but the publishing date is 09/2012. I've also looked at down loading an app for my i phone (which is much cheaper). Can anyone tell me if the APP's are any good or is the book a better option.

PS also Looking for a good but affordable training center based in london.

You should work on your observations and forum positioning.

Buy a practice kit that simulates the test.

I bought the apps from google play for the theory test and the new CG style hazard perception test.
I used them for a week and passed my theory last night.
Only problem is the test now has a few questions that are based on a statement you have to read and when its not been practised can (like me) throw you off a bit.
Other problem with the CG HP on you phone is the screen is so small its hard to see half the thing so end up with lower scores than you would on the massive 32" screens at the test centre.
If you buy them try to practise on a iPad etc with larger screen.

The most hard thing on the theory test is the hazard perception test.

It is actually matter of when and how to click nothing to do with real life hazards.

Anyhow from that point of view training yourself using App on some smartphone - not good idea.

Get the DSA oficial DVD and prepare on old fashioned PC with a mouse! This is how the exam will be.

I used one of the downloadable apps on an Ipad for about £3 and found it to be excellent. It contained around 800 questions and you can focus on the parts you found most difficult. It also had video and CG Hazard perception clips. I believe that these apps are doing so well that the DSVA have now got in on the act and produced an "official" app that links to the pack that Val was referring to.

It cost £10 for 3 months and I got 49 on my theory and 65 on my Hazard

I read the highway code a few times when I took my car theory test in 2001. Passed. I bought the latest AA copy (as presented differently, novelty value), read it once, practiced haz-per a handful of times online. Passed.

Scored badly on one haz-per video because i clicked early and was late with clicking again. I advise click, count one, then click again if you've been riding lots before doing theory as if you are any good you will be clicking early. This was the advice given to me my by instructor.

Theory is piss cheap. if you're a question off just read the highway code and retake.
