Hello,
So I've ridden through France before, but this is my first time really spending a good amount of time there and going on a dedicated bike trip to the country. I'm on a 2013 Hornet, I'll be camping too.
My route is a bit unorganised at this point. I'll be heading off the ferry at Calais, and heading south, no toll roads, straight in the general direction of the Alps. From there I want to spend a good 5 days crisscrossing the alps, camping as I go etc. Any recommendations of what must be seen/ridden whilst there? I've been before but never really on a motorbike.
Also on the camping topic. I might be free camping a bit, but I'd like to use municipal campsites if they arent too expensive and are readily available. Anyone have any experience with them?
And on another serious note, if anyone wants to come from the 2/3rd july to the 10,11th july, seriously let me know. I'm going with one other guy at the moment but unsure as to whether hes actually going to commit or not at this point, and any company would be great.
Thanks in advance. Any tips on riding in France, traveling the alps etc more than welcome. |

I downloaded the campsite POI onto my Garmin satnav from here, https://www.archiescampings.eu/eng1/
We just got to wherever, plugged in the nearest campsite and gave it a try. Sometimes you'd turn up and the campsite was long gone, but 9/10 we always found a campsite ____________________ A2 Passed 18/6/10 |
