Pulse Scout Moped Problems

This morning my pulse scout moped started acting strangely...
Below 30mph (at low Rev) it was fine but when I accelerated higher it revved really high for a few seconds with no change in speed then actually started going faster with no real problems.

It felt like the moped was finding it difficult to move into a higher gear?

For those not in the know the pulse scout is a simple twist and go Chinese 49cc moped.

Any advice on what the problem could be and how to fix would be great!

Sounds like clutch/roller/belt slipping - those parts need regular attention and replacement.

How close to 'factory standard' is it?
(i.e. what mods have been done to it to make it go over 30mph?)
