Hi All
So my CG was sold today and I arranged to view a Divvy with a chap off eBay, he was selling a turquoise divvy and said he had a dark almost black one as well, now it was a bit of a trek from Wigan to Howden but I thought what the hell there was nothing Ive seen near me so far that was any good. Nearly two hours later I arrive and f%$k me he hadn't even got the bike out, it was buried next to 4 other divvy 900`s and all i could see was the back end, would he start it up?, no, ten minutes later he had other visitors and I was ushered on, he waffled on about he didn't need to sell bikes and didn't want to sound big headed , four hours for nothing really, is this the norm from those in Yorkshire?, shame really the price was ok the bike from what i saw was the best Ive seen so far but im not handing over my money to a arrogant rude person like that, he works under the name of All Things Diversion, starting to get pissed off now trying to find a bike.
End of rant.

This is an image he sent and what i got a look at when there, he knew over 5 hours earlier I was coming, the bike looked great but im not parting with cash till i see it properly and hear it at least, I would have had it from him. I m still annoyed 200 mile round trip for ten minutes, he prolly does it for a hobby but still should have some decency when someone comes, I took 45 minutes to conclude my sale this morning for my bike even though I wanted to get away to view this. Any way still on the look out for a decent low mileage machine for commuting on.
@Moo, was looking at a 600 but the divvy seemed to tik my boxes for the price to commute on while I save for a sportier bike next year, not sure what mpg a 900 gets.

Well then, sounds like he's just got a case of "Precious Bikes of the Shop". Common enough ailment. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I'd be pretty pissed off I after a fair trek that happened, sellers seem to love the 'no time wasters' phrase, works both ways & always appreciated somebody taking the time to come check a bike out thoroughly regardless of outcome when I'm selling, its what I expect when buying.
Some bad experiences I've had, funnily enough when going to look at a Divvy 6 in 2012, went up to South Shields (60 mile round trip) got a mate s dad to come up in his Berlingo with the bike trailer (bike had no MOT & I was fairly sure I was gonna get it from the photos and the seller over the phone).
Get to the house (semi-detached & quite nice for Shields) we go to the garage in which there are a pristine BMW GS, Blade and the Divvy with a chain gingerer than my hair, more ally corrosion than you can shake a stick at, the tank & fairings in Matte black when in the photos they were clearly gloss further to that when he started the thing it made a good impression of washing machine full of nuts, can't believe he even bothered starting it knowing how the engine sounded & after wheeling it out in the state it was in, the photos must have been taken at least 2 winters prior to then.
Also had a run in beginning of this year before I got the triumph went to look at a ZRX 1100, had a chew on trying to even get a viewing & when he finally showed up & wheeled it out to show he had taken the rear shocks off & put them on his 1200, the back had a 2x4 with bolts going through where the shocks mount holding it up, bike barely turned over (he admitted the fuel was stale & battery most likely flat from 6 months of sitting in the shop) then proceeded to start removing the tank checking the plugs & coils whilst 'politely I'll admit' asking for a hand diagnosing the starting troubles, I went to buy a bike and ended up with the seller basically getting me to help get it running whilst still refusing to budge on the £1500 asking price....fook that! Found out a few months later the guy 'Ripper' got caught in the 90's with a van full of stolen bikes, so definitely glad I stayed clear! ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...

Thanks Paddy but I can still get the ZZR600 2001 with 20k on it for £800 just needs downpipes, rear tyre and shims sorting, starting to seriously think about that one after seeing the rubbish people want for silly prices.

Hi Snoosnoo, I spoke to the previous owner and he said he only got rid because of the cost to put it right shims, pipes, tyre = £1100 he was quoted. I just assumed they would need doing, not sure about rear shock on it. I have really considered it after reading your guide you did .

As has ben linked above, you can get downpipes at a good price, and as for the shock, I wouldn't only hold my hopes up for a new hagon. An option is to get a ZZR1200 rear shock with ZZR1100 dogbones (try to get the sidestand too off the 1100).
Tyre can be whatever price you want to pay.
Yeah the valves are easy, I just sat down with the Haynes and plodded on. Take your time and you can't get it wrong and if there's a mega emergency, I could pop over and give you a hand if you got stuck. ____________________ I'm Sam; Northern, Ginger, Lover
