Hi guys,

I've recently relocated to the UK and I'm planning to bring my bike from Portugal. Do you know any good transport company that offers a good service and most important, that isn't too costly?

Cheers!

Mike

Ride to Santander/Bilbao. Ferry to Portsmouth, drive home.

Plus you get a night on the ferry to play the casino, drink some beer and chat up the wenches. Thumbs Up

Other than that you could ride up to northern France in a couple of days, staying in a cheap hotel a la https://www.premiereclasse.com/en
and plenty of ferry choices.

A bit of time without anyone or anything to think about.
Probably a good thing.

It's kinda like being able to sit in a pub supping a pint all by your lonesome and not feel uncomfortable.

Stop being a pussy.

Sup a few pints before you head off Very Happy

You guys are all right (and I would also suggest that if it wasn't me Smile ), but the thing is I still need to pay for the flight ticket to Portugal (£200) + ferry from Spain to UK (£200) + Petrol and food (£200). So that adds up easily £600... Is it worth it?

What's the advantage of bringing your bike to the UK rather than flogging it in Portugal and buying one here?

Marmalade might be able to offer some help in regards to shipping your bike to the UK... Thumbs Up

Dunno. What bike is it and how much is it worth?

Consider what your Portuguese bike will be worth once it's been UK registered.

No.

It'll be worth less than ones which aren't imports because very simply, unless the price is right people aren't going to want to buy a Portuguese import when UK models of the bike are available.

Sell your Portuguese bike in Portugal and buy a UK bike in the UK. Wink

Not sure how you do these prices, cheap flight one way is £70 and the ferry economy from Santander is £75. Petrol for 800km from Lisbon to Santander should be about 50L = 75 EUR?

To make that £600 you need to eat about £400.

You should be ashamed from your dinner Laughing

hehehehe what can I say, I like to eat! Laughing

I searched prices for July/August, cause that's the best weather time.

You can get those prices but, that's in low season, no?
