Looking for a bog standard sun/beach/hotel/pool/all inc. Holiday after the kids have gone back to school.

I don't really care where just somewhere to chill out, turn lobster pink and drink beer by the pool.

Budget £300ish cheaper better but would pay more for something decent.

Wants...
Sun
Decent beach
Pool
Nice food

Do not wants...
Long Flights
Kids/18-30/stag/hen/cunts

I'm thinking something all inclusive to save a bit of money but would happily go part/no board.

Just after where to go/where to book/how to get a good deal.

In B4 Tunisina, Greece, Egypt

Keep an eye on holiday pirates, they put together cheap deals and have had a few in the algarve and Montenegro recently.

South-western Portugal.

Fly into Faro, pick up car, drive west.

I survived with negligible language skills, and there was still decent sunshine, in November.

Fuerteventura

/thread.

Really though, cracking place, really chilled, loads to do and see, bike hire is a must because awesome views.

Cheap n all. We took about a 700 in holiday spondoolies for a 2 week holiday, came back with about 300 quid.
We ate out for every meal and drank a ridiculous amount of ale.

Flights were stupid cheap, was about a 2hr flight I think.

Even in September it will be toasty, I had to bandanna my scalp because it was sizzling like bacon.

Air b and b.
Travelled around NZ for 3 weeks using them. Loved it!
Used them this year for a trip to the South of France. Much cheapness.

Palma is too busy and bar crawls, head across the island - Port De Soller is very nice even into October (when we usually go out)

Tunisia should have settled down again by the time you're looking - the damage has been done to un-settle the economy built on tourism, no need for continued attacks - a mate of mine is currently on his way there having set off on Sunday - two of his mates died in Huddersfield walking home from work - some one took at swing at them, opposite sides of the city centre to each other on sequential nights - home isn't as safe as we think it is.

Dammit.

https://www.holidaypirates.com/

Allways seem to have some cracking deals on there. Not used myself yet though.

Edit,

For those saying about Tunisia, I went a couple of years ago and it was a shit hole. Even if it dies town from a beach shooting shit hole, it will allways be a shit hole.

Greece would be okay, if you had some emergency USD stashed away, I suppose.

Back to the bad old days of "If all else fails, you can buy anybody/thing with American dollars", oh dear.

In true BCF Style I've ignored all your advice, and gone for something completely different we are planning on booking a Cruise round the Med.

2 nights in Venice then 7 on the boat.
Trese (Italy)
Split (Croatia)
Kotor (Montenegro)
Argostoli (Greece)
Corfu (Greece)
Dubrovnik (Croatia)
Venice
£499 including flights.

Yeah I know it'll be packed with Oldies, but 24 hour Buffet and sailing all around the place really appeals to me. My parents have done a few and said it was really chilled out and the service is great.

Thanks for all the suggestions Thumbs Up

I've used Air BnB when I went to Boston it was Great. However that was because I couldn't find a hotel for Cheap enough and was out there for a wedding. We got really lucky with the place we picked however it was a gamble!

Glad to see you have made your mind up OP. Thumbs Up
I've not done a cruise yet but will go on plenty as I get older no doubt. Wifey just got her PADI certification last weekend
so I'd wager our next trip will be somewhere that she can get under the water easily and daily.

I've switched to airb&b because I've done posh luxury places to death because my wife and I earn well and have no kids.
But I really like the more 'real' experience of using airb&b and you get to meet proper people, not just a series of
brown nosing tip fishing bell boys, concierges, waiters and receptionists.

Most of the people who host for airb&b tend to use it themselves for their own holidays, so are like minded. Because you do need
a little bit more self motivation and a little adventurous spirit to holiday in this way, especially if like me and my wife you
like to roadtrip once you get to where you are going. Since you'll be changing digs every day or two, part of the fun is you
never know what kind of place/people you'll be in/around next, we book up on the fly so it's where we can get in.

You get a good mix of different standards of accommodation and once you've got a good guest feedback score
(a bit like ebay) then you'll be accepted by anyone. Our last trip was to Tourettes sur loup in the South of France,
we stayed for the week and did a series of day trips in the hire car. But accommodation would have slept up to
6 if the sofa was used as a bed too. Really well presented self contained and separate from the main house. VERY well
equipped kitchen, great because we shopped and cooked ourselves for a few nights, a real home from home. Excellent
VFM at about 80 odd quid a night especially when you consider you could have had a larger group for no extra money.
First thing I did when we arrived was had a thrash on the hosts sons drumkit as he was practicing on it when
we were being shown around by our host, a Hungarian named Zoltan Cool (coolest name ever)

Your parents are old.

There's no coming back from this.

Sell the TDM and buy a cruiser.

Laughing My mum (almost 76) is the self-appointed queen of cruises, I think she has been on at least 8 (and those are the ones I know about) ...!! Laughing

I'd say cruising was definitely an oldies thing, but both my sisters (50 and 52) (okay so that's prolly also old by your standards) ... but also my daughter Anita (27)* have been on one, and they all loved it.

*Anita's boyfriend (who is even younger than her) bought her a cruise to Vanuatu for her birthday, they both loved it.

I can't imagine anything worse than being trapped in the same place and not being able to properly ever escape from someone that might be annoying me, hence (short of jumping over the side of the boat) ... I am not enamoured of the idea of cruising.

But I highly rate your decision, what I like is that you listened to all our advices and then did what the fuck you wanted. Excellent. Top man.

A cruise round the med will be awesome. Make sure you take a BB gun to shoot all the immigrants who are not happy drowning from climbing aboard!

They are actually emigrants, they are not immigrants until they've got somewhere..
