Surely we are creating our own fanatics with this.

If we're not allowed to watch everyone all the time, then you have to do it for us.

Oh wait ... more tedious shite for public servants to have to be "trained" in - just so that the public can criticise them for not doing their jobs properly Rolling Eyes

We already are.. I went on the 'Prevent' 'training' (healthcare workers spying on their patients) a couple of years ago.

It started by talking about David Copeland (for literally 2 minutes) to prove that we're not really after the fuzzy wuzzies.. Before talking for over an hour on how I am responsible for not only treating fuzzy wuzzies patients but also ensuring they are not radicals.

I mean, if they are walking around with a suicide belt on, fair enough.. but a therapeutic relationship should be based on trust. I can't do my job if my patients think their every move is being reported back to GCHQ...

"Nurseries, colleges and probation services also have obligations under The Counter Terrorism and Security Act."

Much needed legislation

Just go down to your local early learning centre and watch all the little kids going into their morning classes wearing their little crepe paper and spaghetti sticks mock up explosive vests.

My conspiracy theory about all this anti-extremism stuff in schools etc is its about cultivating fear amongst the young of holding any views that challenge the establishment.

The problem with labelling things as 'extreme' is that those who get to decide what is and is not 'extreme' are usually the most power crazed, intolerent lunatics imaginable.

Furthermore, not too long ago, some things which today are called 'extreme' were perfectly mainstream (and of course things which are now perfectly mainstream were called 'extreme').

The only sane solution would be to have a pure form of free speech, free expression and freedom of association i.e, say or believe whatever you like as long as you do so in a non-violent and truthful manner.

Inb4 I get labelled an extremist.
