Hi
As the title. Is there a non volatile liquid that can be used to test fuel injection systems?

Cheers

Water. Be careful though it contains hydrogen and oxygen so don't get it near any fires.

I know very little about Fi systems but I'd imagine Marvel Mystery Oil would be a good shout as unlikely to damage anything much and having very limited flammability in it's undiluted form.

Ha Ha, Ribena!
Seriously, I'm doing a favour for a pensioner who's getting over the loss of his wife. He was given the brick as a project. He's made a good job of putting it together but the wiring is a rats nest.
I've managed to get most systems working, ignition, lights, indicators, (all separate modules connected by a truly epic wiring loom). Just got the FI to sort.
Don't fancy spraying petrol all over the place so an inert liquid, of roughly the same specific gravity but with no solvents or other nastiness involved would help with the snagging process.
Surely one of you lot has actually got some value from your student loans?

Volatile. You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Volatile liquids evaporate easily. Water is volatile.

Perhaps you mean combustible; flammable; or if of high explosive, brisant.

Hi

I would worry a bit about where the liquid lands up.

But something like white spirit might do it. Because it is a sod to light!

All the best

Just get some cheapo white spirit from the poundshop
or the above mentioned deisel/kerosene
( or Vimto, very nice Vimto is Laughing )
How and what are you actually testing?
the pump?
That's inside the tank and you have to remove the rim around the filler
to get at it ( and the filter, check the hose for splits too)
the pressure regulating valve is above the manifold as I recall

I only got up close and personal with K100 ( non ABS) wiring looms
i would expect the K75 to be similar but with added stuff for the ABS

Hi
This thing has two modules for ignition and FI (plus another magic box for the indicators) all running through various relays and connected by aforesaid epic loom. Both ignition and FI are interlinked, one taking signals from the other. The pump is external on this one, that works with direct 12v, but I can't get any action when thumbing the starter or any prime when switching on. More delving to do, but the white spirit idea does sound a little less lethal than neat petrol for the initial tests, Cheers.

they all have seperate ignition and FI modules
and the loom is what it is to make it all work.
I wouldn't say its epic but as with any bike,
it really helps to RTFM to make sense of it and avoid stuff bursting into flames

Not when it's atomised through an injector/venturi tube it isn't.

Very similar to Kerosene in that respect.
