Saw a Ducati Scrambler on the commute home tonight

Got talking to the guy at the lights and he was happy as fuck with it. I always thought they looked quite good on the net and in magazines.

However, I thought it looked cheap and plasticky. The wheels in particular look really sub standard.

Apparently, they're made in Thailand.

Are Ducati and KTM struggling or something? Making what are essentially outsourced bikes could well end up damaging the brand.

I don't think they look cheap.

I'd like to test ride it. I think there is a Monster 796 engine in them.

Bloke at work has one. He bought it new for 10k Euro. Couldn't help feel that he was cheated out of about....4k.... for what it is. It's very minimalist but vastly overpriced.

as soon as i saw these i thought they looked smart. Saw 2 over at the TT and if i had the cash i dont see a problem with the price. They look lovely and your obviously paying for the name. Meant to be a nice ride too.

It'd probably benefit aesthetically from having a lot of the plastic pieces removed (of which there are a great number). Scramblers should look stripped down, IMO.
