I got my CBR last Friday. Last night someone broke into my shed by ripping one bolt and latch off, breaking another padlock off, then finding an empty, CBR sized space. I was at my girlfriend's.
I live in one flat of 64, we have a shared car park where a fob is needed, and my shed is not visible from the road. No others were broken into. There is a footpath along the back but that's seldom used.
So this more of a rant than anything, but fuck sake I'd had it 6 days! I'm now scared to stay overnight in my flat. I have a Mammoth chain, Xena disc lock alarm (admittedly without battery currently), no ground anchor (yet), and a set of golf clubs I will be keeping handy hence forth.
There is CCTV in the car park, is there any point telling dibble? I'm renting from a friend and there is an overseeing company, but they may take the wrong side as apparently bikes in concrete sheds are fire hazards. ____________________ CBF125 (2013) -> CBR600F (2001) -> 'Ninja' 300 (2014) |

get a shed alarm on the inside?
even a rape alarm on 1 side with string tied to the pin would do for now.
alarm disc lock aswell. ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg

A few warning signs, indicating new noisy alarms
A friend of mine had a baby monitor in the garage and the receiver in his kitchen.
Mind you, his garage was at the side of his house .
worked for him ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

Yes @ telling the police. They won't do anything but it'll be on record and the break in will be in their stats which will increase their happiness. |

They'll definitely be back with their bolt crops. My advice is to stock up on the chains etc.
One thing that annoys me about biking is how many people will nick them, even the old battered ones, where you can have an old car and no one will touch it. |

I'd get a ground anchor and Almax chain ASAP, as well as some noisy disc alarms and a shed alarm. Basically, go for the full works.
I also like the baby alarm idea as posted above.
I too would have loved to have seen the look on their faces when they found out it was an empty shed ____________________ There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk.

Actual lol Roger
Thanks all. I've whittled it down to a couple of alarms on Amazon, would a 'beware shed alarmed' sticker be lame or potentially another turn off? ____________________ CBF125 (2013) -> CBR600F (2001) -> 'Ninja' 300 (2014) |

Almost there grr666...
Put something under a tarp in the shed and make it look like there's a bike underneath.
Walking over to the tarp trips a motor that closes the door behind them and activates some inch thick steel bolts that slide into crevices in the brickwork.
Activate a two way radio.
Now: "Greetings and Welcome. I want to play a game. Here's what happens if you lose..."
I'm sure there's something interesting under that tarp after all. I particularly liked the dirty needles idea myself - getting the key out of a bathtub full of them perhaps - but I'm sure we could get creative. |

Trouble is with any kind of sign warning of potential injury etc is that when pikey gets hurt trying to steal your shit he can then prosecute YOU because you've displayed intent.
As ridiculous as it may be / seem, it's the same with 'beware of the dog' type signs, even novelty ones. If someone does break in to your property and get's bitten you have displayed that you expect your dog to bite or be 'dangerous' and as you had prior knowledge of the fact you're liable for prosecution. ____________________ Current Bikes / Projects: 1999 Rieju RS1 50
