Sad news about John Hinds the flying doctor of Irish road racing today: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-33396577

I remember watching him at the Ulster Grand Prix and being very impressed at the speed he was going with all of that medical gear strapped to him! RIP

A terrible loss to Road racing, this guy funded himself and was always the first to lend a helping hand. He was probably as well known and respected as any of the top riders in Irish road racing, John will be sorely missed by all.

If you want, you can sign this petition to "get an Air Ambulance off the ground for Northern Ireland"

I know how BCF loves a petition Smile

Yeah, hit a wall then his bike hit him, during a practice for Skerries Road Races.

I stumbled across this video yesterday while searching for tt videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsZBXlTHPCg

It's a presentation he did. Don't know when it was recorded or who the audience are, but it's very interesting and full of anecdotes. I watched it, and was really impressed with this guy. Particularly how he managed to use his occupational expertise to help people sharing his passion - road racing. I think what he did is quite amazing.
After reading into him a bit more last night I was saddened to learn that he had so recently died, and thought I'd post this video here for people to watch.

I have zero interest in racing, and yet that was absolutely fascinating. What a top chap.

Great video ReadySalted.

It led me to watch a couple of his other talks, and what a remarkable doctor, and speaker he was. Very witty and an ability to make such grave topics light hearted enough to make the point more effective.

Such a loss.
