Got caught out with a duff battery yesterday, luckily a pair of car jump leads from the fuel station and a biker with a posh tiger explorer with all the gear got me running again.

Been a year since I've had cover, is auto aid + credit card still the best way?

I'm with AutoAid and so far (touch wood) I haven't had a breakdown.

Really depends. I suppose if you have a credit card with a decent amount of credit so if you seriously break down in Scotland or wherever you can pay for the transporter to take you home then it certainly is the cheapest and the borg swears by it. Wink

Me, because I have a good few vehicles and a horde of women in the family who ride and drive and never have any money I have AA family cover. It is not cheap. Crying or Very sad

Have claimed once, within about 3 days of starting my first policy, payback was prompt and straightforward.

Auto aid is personal cover ain't it, I traded up paddy, got an sv1000 now, let the 675 go for now as I fancied a change.

I've used them for years. Covers me on any bike over 125cc (if I remember) and any car. I've claimed 3 times so far and been paid without issues.

2 were pretty expensive (£500 ish and £800 ish), one was a car and caravan from Devon to Kent, a very long journey at 56mph max. The other was a car and caravan back from Peterborough.

I'll have to look elsewhere though next year, as even though they were happy covering my old LWB 7 seater 2.7 Ton Shogun, they wont touch my 9 seater LWB 2.3 Ton VW Transporter.
