Following my recent crash, had my ER6F 2006 all fixed and back on the road but yesterday was the first time the fuel has got low since getting the bike back and the fuel warning light isn't coming on any more. It's not the end of the world because I use the trip reading/looking into the tank to keep an eye on it but any suggestions what the likely problem is?

Probably forgot to plug the level sensor back in when they put the tank back on.

Easily done.

If you have dropped it or crashed could the knock have damaged the indicator bulb on the clocks ?

This is easily done, as said above. Also, should be quite an easy fix. It was probably on disconnected at the tank end, so just prop the tank up and reattach it.
On newer models, the fuel line will stop the flow of fuel when you remove it, however I'm not sure when they started doing that. You might be able to do it without removing the fuel line anyway. The sender is the only other thing connected to the tank as far as I remember.

On 2007 models (at least) it's the same; only a small residual dribble of fuel comes out when you disconnect the fuel line.

There is also at least the fuel pump power, as well as the overflow hose.

Yeah, he's right. I remember now, there are 2 push on hoses on the 2012, but I can only remember 1 wire connector. As we have just established though, my memory is shit.

Thanks everyone. I'll dig out my Haynes manual and give it a go.
