A warning to anyone who might be travellling on the A6 in the Buxton area.

As you approach Buxton on the A6 from the South (Bakewell/Matlock), on the outskirts, there is a roundabout with a big Morrisons on it. You often see a casually dressed older man sitting in a low stone wall apparently doing nothing.

He is in fact a plod, with a concealed radio, telling his mates who are hiding, less than half a mile further on (in a car park) who to pull.

I talked to him one day and he's reporting people for virtually anything, they don't all get booked, but they all get stopped, so a spotty plod can "have a word".

Beware!

I would like to congratulate Derbyshire Constabulary for having solved every single reported crime, that they have time to go out and look for new ones. Thumbs Up

Joking apart and I can only speak for Buxton, but I was amazed, when our next door neighbour got his push iron back.

It was pinched from his front porch and recovered a couple of weeks later when a sharp-eyed Bobby saw a local scally riding it and gave chase, on foot. He saw the thief chuck the bike into a hedge and apprehended both bike & thief.

It's like living in the 1950's.

Evenin' all Thumbs Up

Sterling Police aren't doing such a ... sterling job...

Perhaps Derbyshire can help out...
