My friend and I was both looking at bikes and he got a cbr500 last week. I was looking at getting the CB500 but I didnt like the colors they came in (they were two toned). I liked the style of the matte black finish but I was told they dont make any of the 500 series in matte finish, it was actually the cbr650 which has the matte finish available.

I dont like the glossy look of the black cbr500 for a street bike. I told the dealership that and they called me yesterday and said they just got a silver one in stock.

It is definitely a hot looking bike in silver, but would it look gay if me and my friend we went riding and both of us had the same model bike / same color?

It's only gay if you put your cock up his arse but as things stand it's just 'mildly fruity'.

Silver "color" scheme = Septic poster.

This is mostly a UK site and over here, "gay" means "happy". As in "Bike shopping with my good buddy has made me jolly gay."

Matching bikes is a bit ghey, but CBR500s are a lot ghey.
Hope that clears things up for you.

Perhaps if you are worried about this you're actually hiding some feelings?

I just don't think I could buy CBR500 no matter what the colour or how gay I was etc.

I'd never sleep at night knowing I'd given up 11bhp over the old CB500 and probably most of that engines character at 8000rpm+.

Yes, but you'd gain oil leaks and cheese valve shims.

Tsk ... it's not an oil leak. It's corrosion prevention!

It's only gay if you've got matching leathers.

And if those matching leathers are like these then, well, you'll be the gayest guy on earth.

Having matching outifts; no-one gives a fuck.

Asking whether having matching outfits would be a rainbow raping unicorn killing crime....that's gay.

Well done for buying a bike you like. The next thing you should do is enjoy it and not give a toss what other people think.

is there a CBR500 owners club you can ask about that?

I wonder if all the people with matching white vans or tarmac grey mondeos worry about this?

I have the same printer as half my friends as it's cheap to feed ink and we all know it. I've had amps and outboards in common with people in every band I've been in. Red Ibanez guitars are something everyone seems to own. I have the same longarm as everyone else in my unit. Is there some requirement that we join some kind of circlejerk becasue we have similar kit?

Dammit, the girlfriend has the same kind of gloves as me. Not chosen on technical merits at all. You caught us out. All of the gay and we never knew.

I spent £750 on a v. clean R reg w/ 30k on it. It's proving very difficult to kill. Btw I'm the 11th owner. So - cheap as chips and resilient as fuck. Can't ever imagine a situation where I'd spend a few grand on a new one - chuck in the lower bhp and rev limiter at 7k on the latest version and yeah. Fts.

To be fair, that's the NC700/750. The new CB500 revs to a dizzying 9000 because racebike.
