Hey guys im new and im thinking of doing my cbt i love the honda cg125 i dunno why but i have always thought of them as nice bikes.

I hate the CG. I sometimes think that the only reason I passed my test was so I could get rid of the fecking thing.

Well, you might be in luck and get to do your CBT on a round-the-clocks CG. They're like cockroaches.

haha HT why do you hate the CG bikes ?, also what would you say is a better bike than the CG ?

Make sure the CG has a pushrod motor assuming you're contemplating the acquisition of one.

No swishy/clattering cam chains.
No cams eating the heads.
No tensioner problems.

Tappets are about the only engine maintenance job to worry about short of oil/filter changes. Some models - even later ones - have points so that's worth keeping in mind.

Lots of good things to be said about a CG. Later 12v models tend to have good lights. They tend to stick to the road reasonably well.

Next best thing to a simple 2 stroke.

Annnnd... that's where the CG fails. It's kinda like driving a car. Not much fun and not worth thrashing. Not enough power to risk leaning them over in the bends unless you're willing to treat it like a 2 stroke but that will end badly. It really will. They really are "commuter only" bikes in my opinion.

Buy one that burbles nicely when running. Don't get one that sounds like a sewing machine. Chances are, if it sounds like that then its been seized and the whole thing'll be twisted up inside like I was when I bought my first CG and some twat had seized/permanently f*cked it.
