125 Bikes for a big guy?

Sup guys I passed my CBT and Im looking to get a bike. Im 19, 6Ft and weigh around 114kg.

I know most of you are probably going to say get a full license. I am going to do that its just I want practice actually riding the bike and getting used to like riding on roads first.

I did my test on a ybr 125 and found it quite comfortable but im looking for other options. I really like the look of the MT 125 and the wr125x. Anyone here around my height and weight able to vouch for those bikes?

Vardero.

It's easier to learn on a bike with more power, more stable, more responsive, better handling, ability to keep up.. overtake.. and scrub speed easily, in every way shape or form better than a 125.

(Based on DAS training compared to my Arrow).

I'd say just go for the license and then decide what bike you wish to get, 125 or other, you'd be better getting some license training "the proper way" under your belt before gaining months of bad habits and having to ride the way the trainers and instructors want you to.

(Nothing against you personally, it's just riding for the tests and how you ride out on the roads are two different things).

As for the WR125X, I had a sit on one not too long ago, fairly comfortable but they aren't cheap.

I'm 6ft6, so yeah, I'm tall. On my CBT the bike was too small and I kept cracking my knees.

If you don;t have the budget for a Varedero, get a Honda XR 125l. That's what I ride and it fits great.

I don't what to be this lad, but if you lost some weight, you'd feel better on any motorcycle, not just the Varadero.

I'm 6ft 2, 88 kg at the moment and I can ride anything, comfortably. Thumbs Up

DTR 125. Or the likes. Will be perfect height for the taller rider. Seen short guys doing the one foot on and one foot off when they stop at red lights on DT's. Laughing

I'm 6'6" and been messing about on a Chinese Piece of Shit (more technically known as a Pioneer Nevada).

Nobody's dream bike but for a couple of hundred quid it's done me for the last year or so. You just have to ignore the fact that it's desperately trying to be something it's not and avoid making eye contact with anyone on a real bike or they'll smirk at you.

even if you dont buy from there, you at least know what your looking for.

At 19 mate i'd go do your A2 before they change the laws again lol but seriously for a similar price of the WR125 you could get:

Ninja 300
CBR 300, 500r, 500x
KTM RC 390 or Duke 390
kawasaki Z300

or even better a mint Honda CB500 for around £1500!

They really aren't all that powerful, you'll be bored of a 125 in no time and like others have said full of bad habits, you'll also be ready for your full A licence at 21.
