Recommend me some in-ear headphones

I'm sick and tired of spending money on in-ear headphones for them to die just outside of their warranty periods.

I've tried loads of different brands over the years, they all seem to make the same crap.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some awesome sounding (listen to rock music mostly), comfortable, and hard wearing headphones?

Or am I asking for too much?

Would usually spend around £30 -£40 but will pay a little more if the damn things will actually last for a couple of years.

I've got sennheiser cx300II's been going for a good year so far, still in good condition, had to replace the earbud's once.

I use mine everyday as i can listen to music at work, so a solid 6-8 hours a day use and then more if i use them in the evening decent sound and i think i paid about £20 for them from amazon.

I bought some of these for running/cycling they had decent enough reviews on amazon and they sound alright, i listen to metal/rock, and at £8 I'm I not going to cry if they break or I loose them

I use the beats ones that came with my phone. They seem okay for wearing under a lid.
Metal construction so pretty weighty and durable with renewable rubbers and an in line mic for hands free use.
The carry pouch is handy but I could do without the 'grippy' rubber coating the wires. It catches on
everything especially my lid as I pull it on and so the buggers get pulled out of my lugs again.
I thought hook over in ear headphones might be better, like these

Look at the Shure SE112 - the cable goes up and over the ears and the sound is smooth at the treble end. The mid range is really good for rock music.

They're built to last (2 year warranty). I have a pair myself.

We're looking to get the M6 Pro in as a low cost alternative for dance fans - I've not tried them but hear the bass is a bit boomy - they're OK for the money though.

The CX300 is an old model now, Sennheiser has moved on the the CX3.00 (and similar) but I haven't tried them. They're usually tuned with a bit of a bass and treble bump.

Again I'd say the SE112 - especially as the way the M6 Pro fits in the ear appears to suit you - you can't change the cable but Shure cables cost more than the SE112 does anyway. Also your problem with tinny cymbals (a forward or overly bright sound) tells me the smoother-topped SE112 would allow you to enjoy the midrange without the treble getting in the way too much. Right for rock stuff.

I use Bose Sountrues. £70 odd, and they've lasted a year so far and not lost any depth to the sound/wires are still intact and I dont think it tangles. Even in-helmet with wind noise there's plenty of bass and it doesn't sound all treble and they don't come unstuck.

They fit in your ear with any of the 3 different size gel earpieces and are relatively flat. SO comfortable even with a helmet on and off, I sometimes forget they're in there.

Shure 215. Cheap at around £60. Had them now 3 years, used daily. Brilliant.

I've had these for 2 years, always being coiled and uncoiled in my bag, haven't had any issues yet. Big bass, fairly comfortable (but I have weird shaped ears so they are probably better for normal-eared persons).

SoundMAGIC E10S. They can't be beat for the price - I defy anyone to find better headphones at that price point.

Buy them from AliExpress (Chinese eBay) - even cheaper!
