So I need some new tyres, garage says it's cheaper for me buy and him fit, which is normally the case.

So where are people buying their tyres? Been a while since I bought any and then it was via gixerjunkies.

Thinking Pilot Power 3s at the minute as my bike is just a summer toy.

Anyone use

https://www.oponeo.co.uk

Seem cheap
https://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto-tyre/michelin-pilot-power-3

Not sure what the price difference is other than delivery speed.

£168 vs £216 from blackcircles

I am very tempted by oponeo, but I don't know whether to do it or not.

Do it for me? Mr. Green

I wouldn't recommend Openeo, unless you can afford to wait until they decide when they're going to send them even when you've paid extra for their fast delivery.

Should you wish to ask them why your tyre hasn't arrived, expect a rude and abrupt email in return.

In short, fcuk Openeo right off if you want good service. Thumbs Down

I've used black circles in the past and have no complaints with them.

I've used Tyretec, Tyre leader, Opponeo and Camskills before for both car and bike tyres. Tyretec and tyre leader seem to be the cheapest and have had no issues. I ordered a set of tyres for the bike from opponeo, front was delivered Friday, rear delivered Wednesday after. Odd.

Openeo sell old stock, I allways make sure my tyres are no older than a year. Last place I bought from was a garage up in scotland, £200 for six month old m7rr's.

TyreLeader were way cheaper than anyone else, when I bought last year, the tyres weren't old stock, but they took nearly two weeks to arrive, so if you're not in a hurry, they're worth it.
Having said that, I just received a set this morning from an Ebay seller, they were the tyres I needed and I just went with the cheapest I could find. Just finished fitting them myself 30 mins ago, according to the Dot number they're 6 months old, they took 3 days to arrive.

You pays your money and takes your choice, to coin a phrase,

For what it's worth, I'm happy to pay the little extra it costs to buy from my local tyre place, they're decent guys and often do little extras like give the brakes a free clean up while the wheels are off, plus are a fountain of good advice on things like best pressures for certain conditions or what not.

Rather pay the extra £20 a time or whatever you could save to the dealer and still have them there as a business. As it stands they've had to lop off a full time guy in exchange for a part time skivvy in the summer months.

The garage isn't a tyre dealer, he actually suggested getting them online rather than from him.

Oponeo every time for me. I search around for the best price and they nearly always win.

Never had a tyre older than 6 months old from them, unlike my local motorbike dealer. Laughing

Ebay always cheapest for new tires. I usually buy 120 fronts new as part worns don't have enough tread depth to be worth it.

I've bought many part worns - for 110/140 its brilliant, pair of almost new PR2 scrubs for 40 quid.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371376173670

120/180's track scrubs cost a bit more, usually more wear.. works out same value as new commuting tires, but with extra stickyness needing to be changed twice as often.

I've used Oponeo twice with no problems, but I wasn't in any hurry so used the standard delivery option. In both cases the tyres were new stock, only a few months old. I'd use them again without hesitation, unless I was in a real hurry in which case I'd probably use a shop where you can pay your money and get the tyre there and then.

Fully tracked via DPD.

Ages are

Front - 1115
Rear - 4814

New enough for my liking.

Will be recommending to others.

I just bought front and rear Enduro tyres from Oponeo, that was late on Thursday so didn't expect them until Tuesday or Wednesday (from Germany, but they don't exactly tell you that).
Anyway they arrived this afternoon - Monday.
There hadn't been a peep about tracking and I was starting to imagine needing to check on progress.
Then about 30 minutes after the delivery an email came saying they had been delivered, followed by two (one for each tyre even though they were taped together!) saying they had been shipped and here's the tracking number.
So as well as being very cheap they were quick, but not terribly well organised.
