Hi all,

Just signed up to get some help really. Had some trouble with the bike last couple of days. Been sat over the weekend not in use, outside, in the wet. Hasn't started since, turning over but not firing. Today there was a small pop when trying but that's about it. I'm now wearing down the battery keep trying so have come on here.

Looking for mobile mechanic to help me out, insurance has £90 call out charge. Can only find mobile car mechanics! I'm in Weston-super-Mare.

I don't have the time, tools or knowledge to be taking things apart or trying things out.

What bike?
What have you tried?

Pull the plug caps off, spray with wd40.
Put plug caps back on
try to start bike.

The bike is a 2001 Suzuki sv650. Like I said, I know nothing about the bike, I realise now I should have learnt but only had the bike two months, passed my test in April.

I have tried nothing but try to jump start it. Don't even know if I was doing that right!

I will try to locate the caps and do what you suggested.

Hint: - Plug caps are ontop of the plugs.

Do you own some basic tools? I presume you own some spanners at least to adjust the chain with.

Doing some simple checks yourself will be pretty easy, and even if you don't own tools, you'll in all likelihood spend less on tools than you'd have to pay the mechanic.

You've stumbled upon a very active forum, have a go, there'll always be somebody about to offer advice so just ask.
