Hi All,

Newbie here.

I have been searching high and low to find an solution to my problem.

My bulbs BA20D 12v 35/35 (halfords own) keep blowing at least every 2 months - i have checked the obvious (Grounding, fuses etc).

But i was wondering if anyone here uses anything other than the standard bulbs, or has even upgraded theirs with a HID kit?

Any help at all is appreciated Smile

I have just checked, and they are fairly clean and making good, firm contact with the bulbs.

Check your battery voltage at tickover and 5,000 rpm, because when the reg/rec fails on those, it sometimes puts out over 15 volts, and the BA20D's won't take it.

The later Varadero models can be modified to take standard H4 bulbs, but I don't think the 2005 model can - there are plenty of 'improved' BA20D bulbs out there, but make sure you get th 12v version as they also come in 6v form.
