sorted the bearing out but i have noticed the bike get increasingly slower in first gear now the point cyclists are doing me until i build enough to go into 2nd,
i know its a 125 but this is a problem, literally taking 10 seconds to get over 10mph, all over gears are fine , top speed is fine(70).
tightened the chain today didnt affect the problem,
anyone experience this before

no increase of power with revs also could be 6000 or 11000 still the same output

bike is derbi terra 125

just checked air filter,spark plug
all good air filter has just been changed also, but of creamy oil in there but thats normal....

i can sit on the bike and hold first with my feet whilst pulling clutch out in the highest revs, its not very strong pulling power....

if you get what i mean

could it be a clutch problem?

Have you been riding bigger engine sized bikes where 1st gear can be used for an extended period of time or are you just new to bikes in general?

1st gear is to be used simply to get you going from a dead stop, my Arrow does under that and it doesn't have an "issue" or "needs to be fixed", you really shouldn't be in first gear any longer than you need to be to get some momentum to shift up to 2nd to then build up more speed and into 3rd to cruise along, or going up more if needed etc.

1st and 2nd are useless, on my Arrow at least, I imagine so on 125cc's in general, that is unless your doing some slow control or filtering or simply just getting going.

ive read somewhere for a test to check to see if the clutch as slipped
is sit on your bike, foot hard down on the rear brake, pull clutch in, put into second give it some revs and release clutch if it stalls the clutch is healthy if not and it keeps on going its bad... mine in this case didnt stall....

Clutch has little to no freeplay, adjust it.

Worth looking at the arm on the top of the engine case when you pull the clutch in make sure it engages and pulls forward and then when you release the clutch it disengages and goes back to its natural position.. just to ensure it isn't sticking.

Its a four stroke buddy.

Would I just have to replace plates or the whole clutch assembly as its only affecting one gear.
