zzr600e gearbox rebuild problems.

anyone rebuilt one before? I did mine for a second time ( Rolling Eyes

) and 5th and 6th gear can't be selected. It just goes into neutral and if i try and go for 6th, it just wont click up any further.

From what I could tell the selector forks etc in the gearbox only goes one way, so im not 100% sure what the problem could be, other than looking at the star shifter behind the clutch.

any help would be appreciated. Laughing

Was the fork correctly seated in groove on the drum?

Yes chap. Pretty sure of it. Took quite a few goes to get right. Unless im mistaken. Quite hard to diagnose is there much to go wrong with the stardrive bit on the end of the drum, where the shifter fork sits on.

did you put the gears the right way round? If the dogs dont engage properly, it'll be like a neutral.

I wouldve thought so, i put them back the same way. Very frustrating.
I think ill split the engine... Again! im going to check the selector first on the paddock stand.

She. I done it on my b1h the star went a certain way there was a groove cut for the neutral sensor but if it's shifting 1st -4th I'd have thought its done right

Raged out on the carriageway last night and forced it past 4th. Actually went into 5th eventually! Haha. Then happily went sixth. From fourth to fifth i have to be very strong on the lever. I think i did the spring support bit too tight. Will check when its sunny.
