3... 2...

Nah, should be decent for a commute.

<Scootch>Get a good deal on it? I see Honda have already knocked 300 off the sticker price, that'll annoy both the folk who bought them at full price.</Scootch>

I got it with more than that off it and a free service, tank pad and new jacket, second day on it in the rain, keeping it under 5-6k till it runs in but it can shift more than enough for me, I wanted a bike to commute on all year round and pop out for the day now and then and this ticks those boxes with good mpg.
It goes well without scaring the shit out of me and I will gain experience before I move on in time.

How much more?

I see Honda have joined the ranks of cockgarglers who try and hide the actual price, but they're asking£3999 OTR at the moment, down from the original £4300 asking price. What are they really wanting?

If you paid £3500 its a great bike.
If you paid more, you'll be bored by Christmas Smile
I had a 250 ninja and enjoyed that.I did yearn for more power quite quickly but didn't really get bored and kept it 2 years.
Its nice to have something new anyhow and even when you get something faster you'll probably not actually ride much faster but just not be full throttle everywhere.
In fact I think I rode quicker on my 250 because it went round bends so easily and you didn't feel the breeze like on my current naked bike.
Enjoy it anyway Smile

Shame they really do look more CBR500 than CBR250 even. I'd have one and it would do me for summer ride outs and to the pub nights etc, but it just does not look CBR enough, or even VFR enough, like many new A2 this'll do designs.

I'd have it over the new Yamaha R3 though. That's one ugly, and terribly specced bike with awful looking build quality and finish.

I really don't understand why Yamaha didn't take the current updated spec YZF125R with the USD forks and 4pot brake etc, and lob in a 250-300cc 35bhp Single pot ex YZ250F motor and call it a stroke of genius? If KTM can build a spunky perky single in a sporty head down pointy shape bike, then why can the Japs not do the same, only do it with build quality fitted as well?

Its a big difference to the CG lol, taking it easy till i get used to the bike and new riding position, finding it very user friendly, passed a few cars today on the way home, learning to use knees to grip tank.
The MT07 i passed my test on was great but out of my reach cost wise, need a paddock stand for for this to keep on top of chain, i think its a great 1st bike, there was a 2-3 year old 250 version on the wirral but he wanted £1950 with 5k i think on it, so it seemed better to get this, it will be a great 50th birthday present for next week.
