So, I'm kind of new here but was wondering if as me being 6'1 tall and 225lbs would I look ridiculous on a sports bike.. am I too fat!?

Previously weighed about 195 and current goal is to drop back to that but kind of discouraged of riding because I feel like I'm too fat and usually see slim riders ride sports bikes.

I was at Squire's a few years ago. I saw a giant. Or at least someone who had eaten a giant, climb onto a hornet.

Now that is a small bike. And with him on it, was very small. He probably had some reinforced shock on the back - you may have to check weights for some bikes?

Ultimately though, ride what you want. Fuck the haters Smile Thumbs Up

I don't see why not.
You may even be able to put your feet down flat. Us shorties cant ride stuff because it's hard to get your feet down at a standstill but your size/weight is not that unusual.
If it fits ride it.

You may well be a tiresome troll re-emerging but in case you aren't.
225 pounds is about 16st so while you might be a bit lardy, you're not going to win any fattest biker prizes.
Just get on and ride the thing.
and yes, your bum does look big in that.

Why do you care, what other people may, or may not, be thinking about you?
Worrying about what other people think about you is never going to lead to a happy existence!
The reality is no one cares, your just A.N. other bike rider, to the rest of the world, to the vast majority of other road users you are, in fact, invisible, because SMIDSY!

For the record, I learnt to ride on a Honda XL125 and I am hugely fat (and fairly short). I then went on to a Yamaha TW125 with the fatty-boomstick tyres, and I loved it.

Having gone thru a succession of bikes big and small (and still being a chubster), I've currently got a HD 1100 Sportster which is the perfect size for me but which I don't especially like. My number 1 chaperone who is 2m tall and 20+ stone and looks awesome on most Harleys ... would look ridiculous riding it, even if he could (legs too long to fit) - conversely he's just left the house riding a sports bicycle, which really suits him, actually Wub

I'd quite like to go back to banging about on a GPZ500 - or ideally an XL500 (rare as rockinghorse shit).

So it doesn't really matter what you ride, so long as you do.

Check out a guy called Phil Crowe. He's quite good at racing a bike and from the looks of him a bit of a pie monster. You'll be fine on a sports bike.

Used to be a 250lb / 18 stone prop forward. Had a scooter for a short while, hence the name 'gorillaonabike' as, well...

Have given up rugby and lost a couple of stone but as long as you don't mind your mates giving you dodgy nicknames, you'll be fine.
