Hi hoping you can help. I have a ZZR1100 C1 70k and well serviced. Recently proving difficult to start when hot. When cold fires on the button but after a run it just spins on starter until coldish. Temp guage never goes into red. Have replaced coil packs and cdi and am stuck now. It would be great if someone could help. Angus.

Did you put new plugs in when the coil packs were changed?

When was the last time valve clearances were done?

if news plugs does not fix it, it may be many things like check the choke cable, the thermostat may be stuck, or carbs cleaning needed.

Have you looked at the spark plugs color?

This is the most likely cause - mine is a complete bitch to start when hot if the clearances are out (mine seems to have a penchant for closing up the exhaust valves)

Though not exactly related, my ZZR600 needed effort to start it when hot, always needed the choke regardless of engine temp when the valves needed doing. 4 of the exhaust valves had tightened up.
